Dave and high school classmate Jerry Lucas founded Hobe & Lucas in 1978 when he realized his skill set was in public accounting. Since then, he has devoted himself to the firm and its clients. While servicing a broad range of entities, he has specialized in the health care and manufacturing industries. Dave started his first business in grade school with a retail fruit stand on Route 82 in Strongsville, Ohio, which is where he grew up. He learned early in his life about providing outstanding customer service. He was the number one caddy at Columbia Hills Country Club by the time he graduated from St. Ignatius High School. He interrupted his college career for military service, later working as a cost accountant for a steel mill and as an office auditor for the Internal Revenue Service. Wanting to experience public accounting, he spent four years at Arthur Andersen and Co.

He serves both individual and business clients, providing advice and assistance with business, finance and operational needs. Special areas of concentration included strategic planning for contractors, non-profit organizations, emerging entities and publicly traded companies. Jerry also had extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, succession planning and estate planning.
