Bill has more than 30 years of accounting and consulting experience. He specializes in several areas, including construction accounting, manufacturing accounting, and sales and use tax consulting.
Jim oversees Hobe & Lucas’ accounting and audit practices. He also works in the accounting, tax and audit practices. In addition, he works with litigation support services, and performs due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. Jim offers specialized skills in auditing publicly held companies, governmental related entities and manufacturers. He is well-versed in financial statement presentation.
Lawrence began his career as a utilities analyst more than 25 years ago, transitioning to public accounting in 1992. Lawrence lives by the philosophy that accountants are storytellers—accountants tell the story of where an individual, family or business has been. However, as trusted advisers, they are also uniquely positioned to tell the story of where that individual, family or business will go.
Lawrence works with professional service companies, trade associations, construction companies, retail stores, manufacturers, real estate companies, restaurant/caterers and individuals to assist with accounting and tax compliance and planning issues, and to provide proactive advice on a consulting basis. Additionally, Lawrence is able to assist clients with valuation issues such as: buy/sell agreements, merges and acquisitions, and exit planning to name just a few Over the years, he has written policy and procedures manuals, developed databases and modeling spreadsheets, and assisted clients with life and business transitions. Lawrence was a sole proprietor for five years, which gives him a unique perspective of the issues facing today’s business owners.
Melissa began her career with Hobe & Lucas in 2005. She prides herself in providing quality tax preparation, accounting and consulting services to closely-held businesses and their owners. She serves individual and business clients in the medical, professional services, manufacturing, construction, and financial service industries.
Aimee joined Hobe & Lucas in October 2021. She brings 10 years of accounting and auditing experience, with a focus on financial service companies, broker-dealers, construction contractors and employee benefit plans. Outside the office, Aimee enjoys exploring the Cleveland area with her family.
Jorge handles accounting, tax and other services for clients of varying size and complexity, mostly in the manufacturing, construction and retail industries. He is the in-charge accountant on several audits reviews and compilations. Jorge also assists in new personnel training, mostly as it relates to tax preparation. He is part of the tax department and in that role he assists with the tax review process. He has been in public accounting since 1996.
Kevin joined Hobe & Lucas in 2002. He works on domestic and international tax matters for closely-held and public companies, ranging from startups to companies with more than $1 billion in revenue. Kevin’s specialty areas include the manufacturing, construction, and health care industries. He is also very involved in Hobe & Lucas’ mergers and acquisitions and state and local tax practices. In addition to his taxation expertise, he manages several audits and reviews, and provides a wide variety of business consulting across several different industries.
Thad has been working with an extensive range of clients since 1998, providing tax, attest and accounting services.
Tom has been engaged in the practice of public accounting since 1980. He joined Hobe & Lucas in January 2019 when they acquired his firm, Flask, Kusak & Company. Tom provides accounting, tax preparation and planning services to business and individual taxpayers in a wide variety of industries.
Tricia joined Hobe & Lucas in December 2020. She has over 15 years of experience in public accounting working with regional/national firms. Tricia works with individual and business clients in a variety of industries and provides technical expertise in the areas of accounting, tax planning and tax compliance. Her background also includes experience in auditing and in the preparation of reviews and compilations.
